I had a dream where for some unknown reason I was out on a quest to get some Sprite.
It was late at night and I stumbled upon a fast food location. But not one of the chains, but rather seemingly a new start-up or independent location.
Inside, everything was a sickly yellow. It was horribly lit and everywhere from the ground to the floor felt grimy. It also had very ugly gray marble flooring.
Most notably however, where you would expect to find tables to sit and eat at, was instead series of poker tables, filled with aging men playing poker or some other card game at a fast food restaurant.
I now what you are thinking: “This already exists.” Yes, it does, except in real life the gambling is catered more towards children rather than adults. Like Chuck E. Cheese or Dave and Buster’s.
Whereas in my dream scenario there were no children. And I don’t think you would want your child in there in the first place. I just needed some Sprite.
Inside were only 2 employees. I told them I just needed to get a drink and instead of pouring one for me through those drink machines, pointed me towards the drinks fridge to my left.
I looked through the fridge to find absolutely no Sprite, which I still don’t know why I want or need. There isn’t even 7Up. There is however Cola, in POWDER FORM? Just a plastic bottle filled with white powder. I assume it works like instant coffee or like creatine, where you just mix it with water, but why here? Then there are these 265ml cans of Pepsi, in these weird squashed wide cans where drinking out of would be highly impractical.
Due to the sheer disappointment of not finding Sprite, I then wake up. I don’t even like Sprite. I don’t think anyone does. Was my dream sponsored or something? Did the soda lobby try to get me to buy drinks?
The fast-food plus gambling combo catered toward adults got me thinking however. I’m sure it already exists somewhere out there, but it feels like a solid business idea.
Though judging by the condition of the building I went to in my dream either business wasn’t doing well or it was a really obvious money-laundering front for some organized crime ring.
If any real estate investors are reading this all I need is a teensy tiny 0% interest rate loan of 60 million dollars (USD) and we can get the ball rolling on this.
